Carnival Easter Clean Monday FESTIVALS A number of village festivals take place during the summer months, celebrating the name days of various Saints.  Some are more colourful and traditional than others, with lambs roasting on the spit, music and dancing, all visitors welcome. July and August are perhaps the busiest summer months for local festivals (‘panegyria’). Look out for banners advertising the festivals, or ask the locals for details of the festivals in the village.  Olive Groves WINE TASTING Enjoy a visit to the local winery for some wine tasting. Based just 5 minutes from Liapades village something for the wine lovers. Famed for their Kakotrigis white wine, the GOULIS WINERY, a family run business from Liapades produce one of Corfu’s most popular white wine varieties Kakotrigis which is exclusively cultivated on the island. The name, Kakotrigis translates to, “bad harvest”, due to the fact that the grape stems are hard to cut, making harvesting more difficult. A medium-bodied, dry wine.
